Q: I am looking to sell my restaurant at the end of april. How have the
liquor laws changed with regards to the liquor licence and when i sell
that the licence can be transfered to the new owners name. I heard that
as of the end april that this cant happen and they will have to reapply
for a new licence for the premesis. Please could you shed some light on
this.
A: Absolutely. If you do not take the required action forthwith the licence
lapses at the end of April and there is no licence to transfer to the
purchaser.
