Restaurants need a powerful voice before Government and provincial regulatory agencies. The South African Restaurant Association promotes a pro-restaurant agenda on critical restaurant issues like smoking and liquor legislation, food safety, and employment practices. Through our members we will continue to battle anti-restaurant initiatives while promoting responsible business practices within our members.

The South African Restaurant Association will endeavor to promote dining out, encourages restaurant careers, publicize the industry's commitment to food safety, commitment to fair labour practices and highlight the restaurant industry's impact on the economy and local communities.

- To Gather and Offer Access to Information

It is our aim to develop reports and publications through our research to deliver the information that helps restaurateurs manage their businesses better.
We will endeavor to provide you with the following type of information

How many times a week do people eat out?
What should I consider when buying a POS system?
How can I reduce employee turnover?
What are the trends in the various food segment?
How do I write an employee manual?
Where can I get a restaurant management qualification?
And many others topics that remain a mystery today
To Offer Networking Opportunities

Through our website, monthly newsletter, road shows and breakfasts we seek to offer all connected with our industry the opportunity to interact and share ideas and opinions in an open forum. The South African Restaurant Association respects and encourages the individuality of our industry and offers a non confrontational arena for discussion and debate.

- To Assist with Training and Workforce Deployment

Through our partners and associate members we will promote the restaurant industry as an employer of choice. We will work together with outside agencies to develop a top quality training course and recognizable qualification in Food Service Management. Our initiative will not stop at training but aim to assist graduates and non graduates alike who seek gainful employment within our industry to be placed in a suitable environment that will nurture and grow them within the industry.

- To Promote Ethical Business and Employment Practices Within the Industry

It is the aim of our Association to ensure that our members continue a practice of ethical business and employment practices through out our industry and its associate businesses. RASA will continue to and assist in the development of members of previous disadvantaged communities and will support government in its effort to promote fair and non racial employment practices.

To Support and Develop the Local Communities from which our Customers and Workforce Originate

The Restaurant Association will continue to assist in fundraising and community efforts within the respective areas of its restaurants to support and grow local initiatives that uplift the community.
